Refugee Action believe every refugee seeking sanctuary in the UK should be able to live, not just survive. For more than 30 years Refugee Action have helped people who’ve survived some of the world’s worst regimes to find the basic support they need to live with dignity. Refugee Action also challenge the policies, practices and attitudes that prevent many refugees from building a safe, happy and productive life in the UK.
Refugee Action are now moving into an exciting new phase of their work in which they develop innovative new services with partners to better support clients, and strengthen their voice and influence over the government policies and practices that affect asylum seekers and refugees.
Refugee Action are seeking three new Trustees to strengthen the board at this critical time. Trustee Board meetings are in London but Trustees can be based anywhere.
Refugee Action wish to recruit those with skills and experience within the following:
• Designing and managing service delivery
• Delivering cutting-edge volunteering programmes
• Fundraising
• Working within the UK political process
• Campaigning
Applications from refugees, asylum seekers and individuals from ethnic minorities are strongly encouraged, to ensure the board better reflects their client group.
