Voluntary and Community Sector group’s experience of the Manchester Common Assessment Framework

13 Jun 2014 - 11:08 by michelle.foster

The Manchester Common Assessment Framework (MCAF) is a key part of Manchester’s Early Help Strategy and the Threshold of Need Document. Participation by voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups in MCAF is low in Manchester and nationally and the majority of engagement is with a small number of established medium to large voluntary sector organisations (£100,000 ->£1,000,000 funding) that employ professional staff.

Macc and the MCAF team, organised a meeting with the VCS to more fully understand the experiences of the VCS and the lack of participation from smaller groups and identify actions that may increase VCS engagement with MCAF. This report outlines the key findings.
