Work Experience for Xaverian College Students

18 May 2018 - 09:52 by michelle.foster

Students will leave Xaverian College with the academic skills needed to pursue their chosen career. However it is the practical, hands-on skills that can only be learnt on the job that the students seek, in order to help them to excel. Xaverian College

Could you offer a student some relevant and constructive work experience?

Xaverian College has BTEC students studying; Business, IT, Applied Science, and Health and Social Care that all need work experience as part of the vocational element of their studies. The dates and an idea of the type of setting that may be relevant are as follows:

• Business BTEC – week commencing 11 June 2018 – the types of setting for this cohort is really broad and more focused on employability skills but could include – charity shops, retail, office roles, accountants and finance, recruitment
• Applied Science BTEC – week commencing 18 June 2018 – hospitals, laboratories, factories, industrial settings, chemical firms, blood banks
• Health and Social Care BTEC – week commencing 25 June – care and nursing homes, learning disabilities centres, mental health and well-being support, homeless centres, hospitals, GP surgeries, children centres, schools and nurseries as well as other social care and community support

Could you make this a mutually valuable opportunity?
You are covered on your public liability insurance and where necessary the students are DBS (CRB) checked to an enhanced level.

Xaverian College considers work experience to be an invaluable achievement for young people and their career development.
