Airport City is supporting this summer’s Wythenshawe Games, a free, fun, sports and activities festival for all ages.
Based in Wythenshawe Park, on the doorstep of Airport City, the Games run over five days in the school summer holidays from 11am to 5pm, offering something for everyone with a host of different sports to try.
Now in its eighth year, the event is Greater Manchester’s biggest community sport and physical activity festival and will be taking place from Wednesday 24 to Sunday 28 July.
The Games will also feature a specific ‘Fun for All’ day on Thursday 25 July, which will enable disable and non-disabled people to try Paralympic sports such as boccia, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair basketball.
Meanwhile, Friday 26 July will be a dedicated ‘This Girl Can’ day, promising something for girls and women of all ages, with an opportunity to win prizes for participating - boys and men are welcome too of course!
The final day, Sunday 28 July features the Wythenshawe Games 10k, an all-terrain run around Wythenshawe's historic park that is free to enter for residents of Wythenshawe – and costs £10 for anyone else.
