Young Manchester are recruiting trustees

7 Jun 2016 - 14:45 by michelle.foster

Young Manchester is an independent, city wide Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) set up to develop a new way of working to support Youth and Play services for children and young people across Manchester, by working with partner agencies to commission work at a local level.

The charity is currently in its infancy and is now looking for talented, passionate professionals to volunteer on their Board as Trustees. Young Manchester need your skills and experience to help grow and develop the charity, in order to make a difference in the lives of children and young people across the city, and the wider communities in which they live.

In an era of cutbacks, Young Manchester aims to provide children and young people in communities across the city with increased opportunities in all aspects of their life by commissioning projects that respond to their ever-changing needs and building on the existing work of Manchester City Council and experienced providers across the city.

The founding trustees of Young Manchester welcome expressions of interest from individuals who have the variety of skills and experience needed to support the charity in its next phase of development, as outlined within the role and person specifications. Once appointed Young Manchester anticipate that trustees will be required to commit 1-2 days per month to the charity which may include preparing for meetings, attending trustee meetings, and keeping up-to-date with relevant developments.

Please note: these are voluntary trustee positions but any relevant expenses can be covered.
