A unique and innovative fund has been created to support tackling health inequalities that marginalised ethnic communities face when trying to get help from mental health services
TOG Mind currently have funding from Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership to continue the roll out of the Connect 5 – Train the Trainer programme across the whole of Greater Manchester.
The Connect 5 course equips staff and volunteers to have more effective wellbeing conversations. By attending a Connect 5 Trainer the Trainer course you can roll out the training across your workforce.
This is a unique one-off opportunity to join a youth led, cross sector initiative that’s using a Youth-Centred Design approach and principles of gender transformative programming to tackle growing mental health and wellbeing issues and concerns affecting young people.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has made available £4 million for a grant fund to support suicide prevention voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations across 2021 to 2022. A portion of the grant fund will be ring-fenced specifically to help support small community-led and user-led groups and organisations.
The strategic objectives of the fund are:

Are you looking for therapeutic approaches that address the racial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of children, parents, and families?
Barnardo’s Boloh Helpline has expanded their service to support the mental health and wellbeing of adult asylum seekers across the UK. This project is funded by the Home Office and is in addition to the current service that offers support to children, young people and their parents.
The University of Manchester are currently working on an NIHR funded research project aiming to Enhance the CAMHS referral process.
The aim of the research is to understand what the difficulties are in making referrals to CAMHS services across the UK. We want to improve the quality of referrals to CAMHS services so that only children and young people who can be helped by CAMHS are referred; and so that others can be guided to receive help they need elsewhere.
GMCVO are delivering a grants programme to support people from communities of identity or experience, based in Greater Manchester that may struggle to achieve higher levels of mental wellbeing.
The communities the programme wants to reach in year 2 are:
GMCVO are looking for organisations who provide mental health support and have staff or want to recruit staff to become trainees in delivering Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Interventions within the VCSE sector.
