Safeguarding in the Community

As organisations rapidly adapt and respond to community needs during this pandemic how do we ensure that what we do is safe and where do we turn to if we have concerns or need further support?

The webinar looked at following three areas:

  • Volunteers: Visiting people safely including an introduction to adult safeguarding in Manchester
  • Sharing good practices: Dignity in Care / Mental Capacity and duty if care / privacy and supporting people over the telephone / the use of setting up effective safe words (for lone working volunteers and for supporting citizens over the phone) and safe recording (why is it needed and how to do it)
  • Managers working with new volunteers: creating new procedures to support new volunteers / C19 updates for DBS and car insurance / MCC C19 broadcasts

Due to the technical issues during the webinar – our guest speaker Louise Tanner, Safeguarding Adults Learning and Development Officer, Manchester City Council Safeguarding Team has recorded her presentation.
