Costco and United Way UK – Give Local 2024/25

Each year the national charity United Way UK, working in partnership with Costco, awards 30 grants of £1,500 each to small charities providing frontline services in their local communities.

The funding is for charities with programmes and services that align with United Way UK’s strategic priorities to provide long-term solutions addressing one of the following needs:

Protective Security for Mosques Funding Scheme

Mosques and associated faith community centres from across the UK can apply for funding to cover the provision and installation of security measures to keep their place of worship safe. They can also apply for some security guarding services, where they feel security guards will improve the safety of their site and those worshipping there.

To be eligible, applicants must be registered charities, charities or places of worship exempt from registration, or eligible Community Interest Companies (CICs).

Barclays Community Football Fund access grants

Barclays Bank in partnership with the Sported Foundation is offering grants of up to £1,000 to not-for-profit organisations operating in an area of high deprivation to support delivery of their football activities to engage with young people (under the age of 25 years) from underrepresented groups.

NW Hearts Charity Grants 2024

NW Hearts Charity is offering grants of up to £25,000 for groups working across Greater Manchester to deliver projects and activities that support people living with or at-risk heart disease and reduce its impact on lives beyond current NHS provision.

Funding is for activities that align with the NW Hearts Charity’s funding priorities to benefit:

Macc: Bid writing

Bid Writing is an essential skill when it comes to securing funding for your organisation. This interactive webinar is ideal for staff or volunteers who are responsible for writing funding applications.

What can I expect?
This 3 hour training workshop will be a combination of presentation, group discussion and practical work. It is useful to come to the session with a project in mind (but is not essential).

Transpennine Route Upgrade Community Fund

You can apply now for small grant of between £1,000 and £5,000 to improve local spaces and services along the 70-mile Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) as part of a new community fund, delivered by GMCVO.

With billions of pounds being invested to transform train travel between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York, TRU has launched the community fund to give back to the communities it is working in.

Movement for Good – Climate and environment special draw

To support the incredible work that so many charities do to support the Climate and Environment, Movement for Good will award £5,000 to 10 charities working in this area.

The nomination window opens for five days only, 12 - 16 August 2024.

This special draw is open to charities whose core charitable purpose is to protect and conserve the natural environment and/or combat climate factors such as preventing global temperature increase.

Ten winning charities will be drawn to win £5,000 each during the week beginning 19 August and announced on 23 August 2024.

Youth Futures Foundation – Evidence into Action

Youth Futures Foundation is providing grants of up £75,000 per year for up to three years for voluntary and community sector organisations to co-develop and implement youth employment activities that are targeted at young people aged between 16 and 24 from minoritised ethnic communities who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), or at risk of becoming NEET, across selected areas of London, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Yorkshire, and the West Midlands.

The Evidence into Action Grants Programme will support organisations across two key phases:

MYRIAD: Spark Project Fund

The MYRIAD: Spark Project Fund is offering funding for test and learn projects exploring how culture and creativity can reduce mental health inequalities in global majority communities. Through these projects the aim is to create opportunities to explore new practice, new approaches and new partnerships. Expressions of interest are being invited from VCFSE, cultural sector and statutory organisations.
