Description of opportunity:

Dig the City is Manchester Urban Garden Festival and Grow Wild's 'A Tale of Two Cities' project will be advertising it's progress. A Tale of Two Cities is funded by Kew Botanical Gardens and is the England Flagship project. 10 hectarces of wildflower meadows will be sown in sites throughout Manchester and Liverpool, we want to tell the residents of our great city about our progress and how they can get involved.

We need volunteers on the 30th July to join us at Hulme Garden Centre at 9.30am as we take our 'meadow' for a walk. This involves walking from Hulme Community Garden Centre to the City Centre as we parade our meadow. This will then we in the city centre throughout Dig the City. The walk will be 2 hours long (MAX) and there will be entertainment along the way. We just need volunteers to be part of the parade and have some fun! 31st July - 7th August Volunteers are needed to be on the Grow Wild stall in the city centre (St Anns Square) to advertise the flagship project. No stall experience necessary, you will be given all the information you need and staff will be present also. The stall needs to be manned from 10.30am - 4.40pm. No worries if you cannot do the whole day, just state what you can do when you apply. This is a fun and very relaxed volunteer opportunity to get involved in. Be part of this amazing flagship project! You will be given a Tale of Two Cities T-Shirt for the day and a lunch will be covered. Travel expenses can also be covered too.
