News
Organise an event for the Spirit of Manchester Festival 2015
Come and get involved and organise an event for the Spirit of Manchester Festival on 1 - 10 October 2015. You could hold a tea party/street party, family fun day, talent competition, bake off event, sports events, bingo night, poetry recital. Understanding needs and improving services for minority communities survey 
This research is being carried out by Faith Network 4 Manchester in partnership with Saheli and the Women's Solidarity Forum and is funded by Manchester City Council's Equality Fund and the Big Lottery Fund. Through this research it is hoped to build up a picture of needs of different communities in Manchester; views on the City's changing demographic make-up; an understanding of the issues that impact on different groups and why BME women do or do not access specialist services. Arcon Community Fund
The Arcon Community Fund has been launched to support projects and activities in the local areas where they have properties. Applications are welcomed from Arcon customers and local community organisations. The projects that will be supported must be of benefit to the local community and the beneficiary must agree to keep Arcon regularly informed as to how the project is progressing, and help with any publicity to promote the Community Fund. The Bupa UK Foundation Mid-Life Mental Health grants programme 
Mental health underpins health and wellbeing and impacts everyone. For many people mid-life, from the late 20s to early 50s, can be a time of increased challenges, responsibilities and pressures, in their working lives, family lives and relationships. The Bupa UK Foundation is looking to fund projects that aim to support and improve people's mental health at this critical life-stage. The closing date for submissions of expressions of interest is: Friday 4 September 2015. Read more

Manchester hate crime strategy consultation – give your views by 7 Sept
The Manchester hate crime strategy is due to be updated early next year. Manchester City Council are therefore reviewing the current strategy, and would like your thoughts on the issues and priorities you would like them to focus on for the next three years. Consultation on draft proposals for OPCC Domestic Violence and Abuse Projects
Manchester City Council has been asked by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) to consult with partners on two funding proposals in relation to domestic violence and abuse core and enhanced support and provide a coordinated response by Friday 28 August.  These are draft proposals and Manchester City Council want to know your views before any decisions are made. Volunteers urged to give a few hours to help improve quality of life and health of older people
People in Greater Manchester are being urged to volunteer a few hours of their time to help reduce loneliness among older hospital patients whose family and friends are unable to visit them regularly. The Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) is appealing for volunteers in the Rochdale, Oldham and North Manchester areas to befriend older people on hospital wards to provide companionship and ease the boredom of long spells without visitors. Stories from Community Reporters on patient information and mental health
Macc, the ICR Social Licensee in Manchester asked its Community Reporters for their views on patient information. Eleven people’s views were collected and were fed into the Patient Information Forum project to develop a best practice tool kit. Read more
