Description of opportunity:

Leonard Cheshire Disability works for a society in which every person is equally valued. We believe that disabled people should have the freedom to live their lives the way they choose – with the opportunity and support to live independently, to contribute economically and to participate fully in society.
Our Supported Living Service provides support and care for adults with various disabilities whilst helping them to retain their independence by remaining living in their own homes.

We are looking for volunteers to assist with various fundraising activities for our North West Supported Living Services. The service provides support and care for adults with various disabilities whilst helping them to retain their independence by remaining living in their own homes. You can get involved in fundraising activities in many ways, from setting up your own fundraising group or being part of an existing one, doing one off projects to raise money or ongoing activities such as monthly bag packs or collections.

This role could also involve assisting with events and some administration work, making phone calls to potential donors as well as helping with marketing and promotional material. is a great role for those who like flexibility as there are no specific times for volunteering, the hours can vary to suit the volunteer and the fundraising task. Some of the disabled people we work with at our Supported Living Services may be socially isolated and may find it difficult to get out into the community. All money raised through our fundraising activities will go towards supporting the disabled people who use our services and could make a real difference to their lives, helping them to feel less isolated as well as enabling them to get involved in different activities and experiences. Applications are welcomed from disabled and non-disabled people from all sectors of the community.

Skills / Qualifications:

We cover volunteers expenses.
This would be a good opportunity for a group activity, either with friends or through formal groups such as scouts, cadets etc. This could also suit companies looking for an Employee Supported Volunteering opportunity.
