Description of opportunity:

 

Know your kitten heel from your court shoe? Your chinos from your denims? Or just want to learn more about online retail? Come and join our team! It is a great opportunity to join a brand new project and develop basic computer skills. You'll have training with the computer programmes, and be guided through the selling standards for Oxfam Online Shop. There are also opportunities to try photography and dispatching, if you want to expand your volunteer role.

We are looking for volunteers with a passion for fashion to create exciting but accurate online listings
for the donated clothes and accessories to sell on the Oxfam Online Shop. This will include using the internet to research items, accurately and fairly pricing items in line with Oxfam Online policies, and creating appealing descriptions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research items online
  • Price items according to Oxfam Online Guidelines
  • Create interesting descriptions of the items, full of personality, to accurately describe what is being sold.

We will provide training for all the equipment and computer software, as well as an introduction and guidance to the Oxfam Online Shop

Key Skills:

  • An interest in fashion
  • Basic IT skills and competency
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, but with guidance and support
  • Technical garment experience would be highly desirable but not essential
  • Some clothing knowledge would be advantageous but not essential
  • Desire to learn or develop new skills in the field of online retail
