Description of opportunity:

 

This role requires one hour a day, at least 3 times a week, but is very flexible on the time of day. It is a great opportunity to join a brand new project and develop basic computer and admin skills. You'll have training with the computer programmes, and be guided through the packaging standards for Oxfam Online Shop. There are also opportunities to try photography and listing, if you want to expand your volunteer role. Come and join our exciting new team and help Oxfam to end extreme poverty for good.

We are looking for organised and methodical volunteers with a keen eye for detail to package and dispatch items sold on the Oxfam Online Shop local hub. This will include using online programmes to pay for packaging, carefully wrapping and parcelling sold items, and taking them to the local post office. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be available to check if items have sold at least 3 times a week (for an hour)
  • Package items in accordance with Oxfam Online Shop guidelines
  • Use parcel information to pay for postage using online programmes 
  • Take parcels to the local post office (small amount of manual handling and outdoor time) 

We will provide training for all the equipment and computer programmes, as well as an introduction and guidance to the Oxfam Online Shop

  • This role does require a minimal amount of manual handling, and travel (250 metres)
