What will I be doing?
Responsibility of the Fundraising Group Leader:

  • Lead and coordinate the group in organising fundraising events
  • Build strong relationships with all members and actively recruit new members
  • Represent the charity in your community, acting as the face of the BHF
  • Ensure group activities comply with relevant law and BHF policy
  • Work alongside your local Fundraising Manager

  • Diplomacy and the ability to facilitate open discussion
  • Enthusiasm to run and support fundraising events
  • Confidence and willing to act as the face of the BHF in your local community

What training and support will I be given?
The BHF is committed to ensuring that volunteers have an enjoyable and worthwhile volunteering experience. You will have support from existing volunteers, your local Fundraising Manager and the BHF Fundraising Support Team. There will be the opportunity to gain and develop skills and to meet other volunteers. Out of pocket expenses incurred during your volunteering will be reimbursed in accordance with the BHF Volunteer Expense Policy.

Where will I be based?
As Fundraising Group Leader you will be working in your local community with volunteers in your group. Your group will meet at a convenient space in your local area for meetings. Your local Fundraising Manager and the BHF Fundraising Support Team will be on hand to support you in your role.

What else do I need to know?
This role can work flexibly to suit your availability and other commitments. The time commitment will vary depending on the time of year, increasing during campaign periods or when the group is organising specific events.
In addition to co-ordinating the group and their meetings and events, you may also be involved in helping to raise the profile of the group within the community. This is an important role and will require at least one day per month on average.
