Big Bike Revival pop-up Dr Bikes

30 Jul 2020 - 15:10 by michelle.foster

cycling ukCycling UK is launching a second phase of the Big Bike Revival with programme of pop-up Dr Bike events.

This builds on the Big Bike Revival for Key Workers programme which has been supporting people to cycle as a safe and effective way to travel and maintain social distancing during the coronavirus response. As more people are considering cycling for both work and leisure, the demand is increasing and the second phase of delivery will support the whole community to cycle, by fixing bikes at Dr Bike sessions.

Delivery period: 15 August - 15 November

Cycling UK are calling out to organisations that can deliver accessible Dr Bike services within their local community to get involved. You will need to provide basic servicing:

  • Free safety checks to ensure cycles are safe to ride
  • Minor repairs, and adjustments, e.g. brake cable and pads, puncture repairs, tube replacements, adjusting gears, etc.

Delivery partners can apply for grant funding of up to £3,000 to support the events programme.
