Manchester Federation of EBSD Schools provides education for children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The Federation comprises of Buglawton Hall residential school for boys aged 11-16 in Congleton, Cheshire, day provision for KS3 children at Southern Cross School in Chorlton and Meade Hill School in Higher Blackley and KS4 day provision at Castlefield Campus in Hulme and Wythenshawe Campus in the south of the city.

Never Going Underground - Community Exhibition opportunities

The People’s History Museum is currently working on an exciting community-led project to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Sexual Offences Act, which partially decriminalised homosexual acts. Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Never Going Underground: The fight for LGBT+ rights will focus on the fight for equality for those identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* and other gender and sexuality minorities (LGBT+). The project will include a major programme of events including a landmark exhibition to open in February 2017 developed by a team of Community Curators.

Bardsley Fund

Bardsley Construction is offering funding to groups across Greater Manchester area. The fund supports groups that address older people, children and young people, stronger communities and health and wellbeing, whose income is no more than £30,000. Awards of up to £1,000 are available.

It is likely that the majority of people will take on caring responsibilities at some point in their lives. Unpaid carers make a vital, hidden contribution to the health and wellbeing of the nation. However, carers are often under significant pressure and many find that caring can take its toll on their own health.

Independent Choices Greater Manchester vacancies for Female Trustees

Independent Choices is a Manchester based charity that has been working for almost forty years with women and their dependents who have been effected by domestic abuse. Independent Choices offer two helplines that serve Greater Manchester: a Women’s Domestic Abuse Helpline and a Community Helpline Language Service which is sensitive to the needs of South Asian Women. Independent Choices take around 5,000 calls per year on their helplines that offer advice, signposting, emotional support and referrals to a network of refuges across the UK.
