MACC - A Consultation Event for the Voluntary & Community Sector Infrastructure in Manchester

These consultation events are separate from Volunteer Centre Manchester so please do attend both if you wish.

We would be grateful if you could pass this information on to your colleagues, friends, e-mail networks, partner organisations and local groups. 

Macc would like to invite you to a special voluntary sector consultation. These events have been arranged throughout the city, over a number of days, to look at the development and changes to Voluntary and Community Sector Infrastructure in Manchester.

Volunteer Centre Manchester Consultation Events

These events are targeted at both Volunteers and Volunteer Involving Organisations.

Volunteer Centre Manchester and MACC would like to invite you to a special voluntary sector consultation. These events have been arranged throughout the city, over a period of 5 days, to look at the development of Manchester’s newly formed Volunteer Centre. However, we need your help. We would like as many people to attend as possible so that you can have your say in shaping how Manchester’s Volunteer Centre Services will look now and in the future.

Pell & Bales offers 21 free telephone fundraising campaigns

Telephone fundraising agency Pell & Bales is offering to run 21 campaigns for charities at no charge. It hopes that charities will use the opportunity to test new applications for telephone fundraising.

The company is marking 21 years of fundraising and the achievement of raising over £1 billion for charity.

The Speak Up Fund

The Speak Up Fund is provided and administered by the Community Film Unit. Funding is intended to support voluntary organisations across England that have a film-based project that shows dedication towards their local communities.

Youth Fund Commissioning Process – Round 2

Following the first round of commissioning in July 2011, during which Manchester City Council commissioned youth related activities from voluntary sector organisations within the city for the period 1 August 2011 to 31 March 2013. Manchester City Council are now seeking to commission further services for young people aged 10-19 for the period of 1 April 2012 to 31 March 2013. The second round of funding is being jointly commissioned by Neighbourhood Services and Children's Services and reflects the jointly agreed Valuing Young People Strategy.

Healthwatch Options Briefing Paper

The government vision for the NHS seeks to put patients and the public first; the principle is based on shared decision-making; learns from people’s experiences of using services and listens to patients and the public in the commissioning and provision of services for local communities.

In line with this vision the current Health and Social Care Bill seeks to strengthen the collective voice of patients, users of care services and the public through the establishment of HealthWatch England and Local HealthWatch organisations in each county council and unitary local authority area.

Manchester City Council Budget Consultation – Have your say

In autumn 2010, the Government's Comprehensive Spending Review outlined plans to reduce public spending. This meant that Manchester City Council had to make £109million of savings during the 2011/12 financial year, rising to £170million by 2012/13; this is a reduction representing around 25% of the net spend of the Council.

Manchester Alcohol Strategy 2012 – 2015

The Manchester Health & Wellbeing Board is updating the city's strategy around alcohol. The key themes are:

• Developing a culture of responsible drinking, where we drink less, less often, by ensuring that individuals have access to information and support to help them make informed choices and change behaviour

• Ensuring a responsible alcohol retail industry brings benefits to our economy without harming our communities, by supporting responsible retailing and enforcement activity to address poor practice
