PABBS evidence-based suicide bereavement training will help to address key objectives in the following key documents:
• NICE Suicide Prevention Guidelines in Community and Custodial Settings (Sept, 2018); and
• the NHS Long Term Plan (Jan, 2019)
PABBS training is referred to in a key document published by Public Health England and NHS Health Education England (PHE, 2016) PHE&NHS Health Education Document
PABBS training was informed by a three year study, conducted at the University of Manchester, funded (£243,000) by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), led by Dr Sharon McDonnell and her team and first of its kind internationally.
This training is a one day highly interactive workshop, delivered by two trainers, who have considerable experience working with those bereaved by suicide. There is no role-play during the training.
