International Women's Day 2020: The Walk for Women 2019-20 Fund

Manchester City CouncilAs long-standing supporters of gender equality Manchester City Council support activities every March to promote and celebrate International Women’s Day. The third annual Walk for Women takes place on Saturday 7 March 2020, and Manchester City Council want as many people and organisations as possible to join in.

Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder small grants

10GMVoluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) groups and organisations in each of the local authority areas of Greater Manchester are being sought to provide peer support opportunities for parents, carers and families of children with suspected or diagnosed Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

The Human Lending Library

Human Lending LibraryThe Human Lending Library®, which matches charity and social enterprise leaders with successful entrepreneurs as mentors, has opened in Manchester.

Launched by the charity Expert Impact, the initiative has seen more than 200 leaders of social enterprises and charities ‘borrow’ an Expert for advice on improving their organisations and increasing their social impact.

The Woodward Charitable Trust – Small Grants next deadline 31 January 2020

From October 2019 The Woodward Charitable Trust Trustees will only make grants towards core costs rather than specific projects as they recognise that smaller charities can find these hard to fund.

Funding Priorities
Trustees will consider applications for core costs, which will achieve a positive impact in at least one of the following areas:

2019/20 I Dig Trees programme now open

I dig treesThe Community Volunteering Charity (TCV) have 350,000 carbon busting trees to give away to community groups and volunteers for free.

Throughout the bare-root planting season of 2019/20, TCV are aiming to plant even more trees – another 350,000+ trees in over 800 green spaces across the UK which will be achieved with approximately 37,000 hours of community volunteering for everyone to grow.
