Deaf Awareness: How To Involve Deaf Volunteers in your Organisation

Do you have an interest in Deafness? Would you like to learn some basic BSL? Does your organisation want to become more inclusive to volunteers from the Deaf community?

This training, which is in partnership with Macc and Deaf Health Champions will cover basic sign language skills, Deaf awareness and will explore the issues and barriers that affect Deaf people who are wanting to volunteer.

For voluntary organisations, it is an opportunity to look at their own diversity in regards to volunteers, service users and staff who may be Deaf or hard of hearing. The session will be fun, interactive and most definitely 'Hands-On' (pardon the pun).
