Breaking Boundaries Project – Manchester

12 Aug 2021 - 14:26 by michelle.foster

breaking boundariesBreaking Boundaries aims to socially connect young people, their families, and communities together through regular cricket themed engagement, fostering mutual respect and friendships by playing, spectating and volunteering. It is delivered in 5 cities: Bradford, Birmingham, London (Barking and Dagenham), Manchester and Slough.

The programme has been extended until 31 August 2022 and activities can be multi-sport and include a ‘cricket theme’.

All activities to be regular (between 6 to 12 sessions), to build relationships between participants and foster positive cohesion benefits between different groups. There will be no more one-off events.

All activities to include two community groups that are different to each other, participating together regularly.

Activities must align to the City Cohesion Strategy, being delivered to address a local need identified in that ward.

Community Champions will continue to be at the heart of designing, developing, and delivering social action projects for their Community. If you don’t have Community Champions, don’t worry, Sporting Equals will still work with you and another community group, to arrange regular sessions for you to participate.

By taking part you will be invited to join the Breaking Boundaries Community Leaders Forum, which will meet in August, October, and January. The Forum is there for you; to have your voice heard and access funding for activities to address local need.
