Charity Governance Awards

18 Dec 2015 - 10:50 by michelle.foster

Does your charity have a brilliantly effective board?
Is great governance helping you achieve more?

The Charity Governance Awards is an exciting new not-for-profit initiative created to celebrate outstanding governance in charities both small and large.

Effective governance makes a difference. And by sharing examples of inspirational trustees and brilliant boards The Clothworkers’ Company, who have organised these awards, want to show how great governance and doing good go hand-in-hand.

Today, third sector governance is a subject never far from the news. Yet the headlines don’t tell the whole story.

That’s why the awards are exclusively dedicated to charity governance. By shining a spotlight on the best of the sector, The Clothworkers’ Company want to demonstrate how effective governance can transform a charity and even more of the lives of its beneficiaries.

It’s an idea backed by trustees too: The Clothworkers’ Company research* shows 89% of trustees and managers actively welcome an event recognising charity governance.

Raise your profile and win £5,000.

The awards are easy to enter online, with six categories covering every kind of charitable organisation:
• Improving impact - 3 awards for different sized organisations:
- 3 paid staff or fewer (including charities with no paid staff)
- charities with 4–25 paid staff
- charities with 26 paid staff or more
• Board diversity and inclusivity
• Managing turnaround
• Embracing opportunity and harnessing risk

There’s no expensive entry fee or gala dinner tickets to pay for. It’s simply a no-charge opportunity to share your charity’s work and win £5,000 to help you do more of it.

Short-listed entrants will also get a complimentary invitation to the awards event in London on 12 May 2016, where the winners will be announced.

Deadline for entries: Friday 15 January 2016, 5pm
