Equity Foundation Awards

Grants are available to local non-profit organisations for projects that benefit communities where Equity Housing Group has a presence which includes: Barnsley, Cheshire East and West, High Peak, Manchester, Rotherham, Sheffield, Stockport, Tameside and Trafford.

Improving Lives Fund – Community groups, social enterprises/CIC’s and registered charities can apply and projects must benefit Equity Housing Group customers and their families but it can also include the wider community. Grants can be for Projects or services that directly support Equity customers and their families around our key themes. The wider community can be involved, but the primary focus should be on Equity customers. Grants of up to £2,500 are available.

Community awards – Community groups can apply for projects which benefit communities where Equity Housing Group customers live. Grants can be for local community projects that target their key themes, which are: Fuel poverty; Digital inclusion; Financial inclusion; Safer communities; Social isolation; Wellbeing; and Work and skills. Consideration should be given to how Equity customers could also benefit.

Eligibility criteria:
• Community groups must have a named bank account
• Projects must be carried out in the geographical areas where the Equity Housing Group operates
• Community groups must have an equal opportunities statement, a safeguarding vulnerable people statement and a Statement of Purpose or constitution, or related policies. Templates can be provided on request. Where appropriate, you will be required to carry out DSB checks (formerly CRB)
• You should demonstrate a clear need or problem in a community and explain how Equity funding could support a solution.
• Your project must target one or more of the key themes and the funding must be spent over a 12 month period from receipt of grant.
