Fastlaners Employability Programme, March 2017 - Recruitment now open

Fastlaners is a free employability programme for young people living in Greater Manchester aged 18-25. It equips participants with the knowledge, networks, skills and confidence to improve their job prospects and find meaningful employment. It is ideally suited to young people who have some work experience and/or qualifications and are looking for support to turn their skills and passions into a job they love. Uprising Fastlaners

The programme consists of 8 days training and networking, followed by three - six months of ongoing, one to one support to find work. Participants meet professionals from a range of industries (previous partners have included HOME, Greater Manchester Police, Manchester City Council, Brother UK, IBM and ITV) and build their employability skills through mentoring, mock interviews, networking opportunities and skills based workshops.

The Fastlaners approach has proved really successful with 89% of last year's participants securing employment or training within 6 months of completing the eight day programme. Fastlaners are now recruiting for their next programme which begins on 27 March 2017.

8 days full-time: Mon 27 - Fri 31 March (optional visit to Choices career fair on 30 March) and Mon 3 - Thurs 6 April
6 months of support: 1-2-1 job support plus mentoring until September 2017
Venues: Brother UK, Audenshaw and Siemens UK, Didsbury

Workshops will take place at Brother UK's head offices in Audenshaw and Siemen's head offices in Didsbury, Fastlaners will contribute towards daily travel costs. Young people claiming Job Seekers Allowance or Universal Credit are eligible to take part.
