Greater Manchester HIV Testing Week – HIV: Let’s sort this together

12 Nov 2020 - 15:11 by michelle.foster

gm hiv testing weekThe PaSH Partnership have founded the first Greater Manchester HIV Testing Week, which will take place between Monday 16 and Sunday 22 November 2020.

Greater Manchester, has become a Fast-Track City; a global partnership between cities that have the ambition of ending all new cases of HIV within a generation by reducing transmissions, late HIV diagnoses, and eventually new diagnoses of HIV.

The ‘HIV: Let’s sort this together’ campaign has been working towards Greater Manchester’s ambition of ending all new cases of HIV within a generation, through promoting HIV testing, prevention methods such as condoms and lube, PEP and PrEP and HIV management through medication (U=U).

This phase of the campaign will focus on testing and encouraging people to know their status.

It’s a great opportunity to get tested and encourage others to test for HIV from the comfort of your own home. Throughout this week we want to increase the number of people testing for HIV and the number of people who know their HIV status.

The PaSH Partnership want to encourage people to test through focusing on how easy it is to do a self-sampling test in the comfort of their own home. The PaSH Partnership also want to empower people to know what to do if the test does come back positive.
