Heritage Lottery Fund - Skills for the Future

1 Jul 2016 - 11:09 by michelle.foster

The Skills for the Future programme helps organisations deliver paid training placements to meet skills shortages in the heritage sector and to help diversify the workforce.

The Skills for the Future programme is focused on creating paid, high quality opportunities for new entrants to the heritage sector, and helping to sustain the heritage sector in the longer term.

Grants range from £100,000-£750,000.

Priority is given to projects which set ambitious and credible targets for the recruitment of trainees, with the aim of broadening the demographic profile of the heritage workforce.

Applications go through a two-round process. This is so you can apply at an early stage of planning your project and get an idea of whether you're likely to receive a grant. Then you can send your detailed proposals. At the first round you can also ask for funding to develop your project.

Second-round applications and supporting documents must be received within six months of the first-round decision.
