Make a difference by becoming prepared for emergencies

12 Apr 2024 - 09:22 by michelle.foster

When emergencies strike, local volunteer organisations play a crucial role in providing immediate assistance to affected communities. With the right knowledge, you can be more confident in how you can support yourself, family, friends and your wider community before, during and after times of crisis.

The Greater Manchester Resilience Forum is proud to offer free awareness sessions and educational resources designed to equip communities to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies they may face. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or someone eager to lend a helping hand or would just like to find out more about the work of your Local Resilience Forum – these learning sessions are tailored to anyone looking to enhance their community's resilience.

In collaboration with Building Resilience Together and other partners, the Greater Manchester Resilience Forum are currently developing online courses to provide accessible training for volunteers and representatives from the voluntary and community sectors.

The first four sessions will be held in April and May, taking place during lunchtime and lasting 60 minutes each.
