VCS funding of Young Women and Girls Project

7 Oct 2022 - 10:39 by michelle.foster

Manchester Community Safety Partnership are looking to award funding to a local Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisation to support the delivery of Manchester’s Community Safety fundingStrategy which focuses on keeping people safe, reducing harm and strengthening our communities.

There is a total of £114,866 available (over a period of three years) to a VCS organisation. The successful organisation will be required to employ a worker to deliver services which provides support for young women and girls who are at risk of exploitation and being drawn into serious violence/offending and therefore subjected to harm.

The purpose of this allocation of funding is for VCS organisations to deliver activities or projects that will complement the work of the Complex Safeguarding Hub and align with the work from the Alternative Provision Taskforce. Applications are welcomed from groups who are Manchester based, and groups working together in a partnership with one organisation acting as the lead, accountable organisation.

This is an approach requested and funded from the Home Office to understand how it works and will determine future arrangements.

Further ideas are welcomed about what would help improve safety for young women and girls, how we protect vulnerable people and engage with young women and girls in the city.
