TLI Projects

These are some of the projects currently as part of the Manchester Transforming Local Infrastructure programme.

State of the sector survey for Manchester Manchester skyline
(in partnership with support organisations across Greater Manchester)
We have commissioned the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research at Sheffield Hallam University to assess the current size and scope of voluntary and community activity in Manchester. We want to build up a full picture of the wide range of groups and organisations in Manchester and the work they do. Getting a picture of the voluntary and community sector in Manchester will help us to influence decision makers, inform policy and drive improvements in Manchester.
For more information go to the State of the sector survey page
To complete the survey online: www.surveymonkey.com/s/manchesterSOS

CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) Manchester
A CRB checking service for local groups and people wishing to volunteer. Volunteer Centre Manchester and The Gaddum Centre are working in partnership to support Manchester’s community and volunteering groups by delivering CRB Manchester. If your volunteers are required to have a CRB check before starting their volunteering then we have a great offer for you. In addition to this you will get access to discounted CRB checks for your paid staff, access to training and advice on safe recruitment, advice on conviction disclosure and expert CRB guidance.

Community ReportersFirst set of manchester Community Reporters
Showcasing the work of the voluntary and community sector in Manchester through training community reporters. People’s Voice Media have begun training people from the TLI partner organisations to enable them to train others in community reporting. The Community Reporters will then have the skills to showcase the work of voluntary and community groups in their area. The content collected could then be used in the following ways:

  • Written content – fed into our newsletters and casestudies on our website
  • Written content – sent to local press
  • Film and audio – posted online to MyManchester.net
  • Films and audio - on our website
  • Film – shown at events
  • Audio - sent as content for local radio stations

Two of the Community Reporters (Hannah/Charles) filmed the Macc launch with the help of People's Voice Media, see the results on Macc's YouTube page.
