Call for papers: University Public Engagement with Urban Multilingualism

The three-day event will offer an opportunity for an exchange of ideas and experience among university projects that actively combine research on urban multilingualism with an outreach and public engagement agenda. It will be hosted by the Multilingual Manchester research unit (http://mlm.humanities.manchester.ac.uk/). Confirmed contributors will represent projects based in a variety of universities around the world including Moscow, St Petersburg, Berlin, Edinburgh, London, Sheffield, Melbourne, Sydney, and Graz.

Justice and Equality Fund opens for applications

The Justice and Equality Fund, supported by TIME’S UP UK, has launched new grants programmes aimed at tackling the culture of harassment, abuse and impunity. Grants of up to £200,000 will be available to organisations that provide emotional and practical support to people who have experienced sexual harassment, particularly in the workplace. Integrated Communities Innovation Fund

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), in partnership with Sport England, has launched the new Integrated Communities Innovation Fund. The Fund will help drive forward proposals to tackle the key causes of poor integration set out in the Government’s Integrated Communities Strategy Green Paper published in March 2018, by offering support to projects who can demonstrate innovative approaches to tackle the barriers to integration and building integrated communities in England.

The Trust Lorraine Foundation: continuing to fight for equality – through us

On Saturday 3 March 2018, Jackie Driver, Chief Executive of Breakthrough UK, and Jenny Gradwell, Daughter of the late Lorraine Gradwell, launched The Trust Lorraine Foundation at the Walk for Women in Manchester. The Foundation - in Lorraine Gradwell’s name - is a joint project between the Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People (GMCDP) and Breakthrough UK to increase disabled people’s representation in elected office.
