The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust - Rights and Justice funding

The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust (JRCT) is concerned that the rights of vulnerable and marginalised communities in the UK are being eroded, particularly Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities, migrants and refugees. JRCT believes that equality and human rights play a vital role in protecting the most vulnerable and in turn benefit the whole of society.

Climate change caused by human activity is threatening the well-being of humanity. The wealthiest countries and individuals are responsible for a disproportionate share of emissions, whilst the poorest countries and sections of society are the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Similarly, our use of natural resources is unsustainable and unjust. Technological change is essential but not sufficient; fundamental changes to economic models and social norms will also be required, but there is not yet sufficient public or political consensus to make these changes.

CYA@HOME - Theatre performance project for 14-18 year olds

CYA@HOME is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in an exciting new theatre company who will perform a new work on HOME’s main stage as part of the National Theatre Connections Festival.

Community Arts NorthWest and HOME are looking for Young People aged 14 to 18 years with an interest in performance from all communities across the city. You will be able to develop skills, existing and new and work as part of a dynamic creative team. No previous experience is necessary; just enthusiasm, a willingness to try something new and commitment.

Grant for a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Independent Domestic Abuse Adviser (IDVA) service

Manchester City Council has been awarded £50,000, £25,000 by the Office for the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) and £25,000 by the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) for a LGBT focussed IDVA service. The full funding of £50,000 will be awarded to one successful applicant who will need to work with the LGBT community across Greater Manchester.

Opportunity to host a stall at BHA’s World Aids Day celebration

To celebrate World Aids Day BHA are holding a Market Place event and workshops that promote the health and wellbeing of BME individuals and communities in Manchester.

The event will take place on Saturday 3 December 2016, 11am-4pm at St. Thomas Centre, Ardwick Green North, Manchester, M12 6FZ.
