Stockport Without Abuse is a highly regarded, specialist charity who has been supporting, empowering and educating individuals and families affected by domestic abuse since 1975, when they were then known as Stockport Women’s Aid, and before that Heaton Moor Women’s Group.

Domestic abuse safe accommodation: COVID-19 emergency support fund reopened

gov.ukA remaining £1.85 million is now open for bids on a rolling ‘first comes first served’ basis until 20 July.

This will ensure domestic abuse safe accommodation charities and other service providers can continue applying for support during COVID-19, and keep this critical provision open for victims and their children.

Disadvantaged groups in Greater Manchester supported with £100,000

Lankelly Chase£100,000 has been allocated to support people experiencing extreme disadvantage in Greater Manchester through the coronavirus pandemic.

The £100,000 donation has come from the Lankelly Chase Foundation and will go to disabled people’s organisations and community organisations supporting those at risk of domestic abuse.

Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation: MHCLG COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund

Ministry of Housing Communities and Local GovernmentThe Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has secured £10 million for domestic abuse safe accommodation charities as part of a £76 million government package of support to charities supporting vulnerable people including domestic abuse victims.
