Volunteers needed for The Real Neighbours Wythenshawe Phone Buddy Scheme

The Real Neighbours Wythenshawe are looking for volunteers to help support the vulnerable members of the community that are currently alone in isolation.

You would become a phone buddy and ring daily or weekly for a chat, to prevent loneliness and be a point of contact for ongoing support over the next few weeks of months.

Cultural sector in Greater Manchester comes together to help young people

creative care kitCharities, businesses and the arts have joined forces to support thousands of young people across Greater Manchester during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The initiative, led by Greater Manchester Combined Authority, will see 22,000 Creative Care kits distributed to young people who are not online, and so may be feeling more isolated and lonely during this difficult time.

Covid-19: Henshaws survey with blind and partially sighted people report

henshawsHenshaws started a survey at the beginning of the lockdown as they knew the restrictions that were put in place would have consequences for people already facing challenges in their everyday lives due to sight loss.

Henshaws have surveyed 955 visually impaired people and had time to analyse the results in full.
