In 2011 Manchester took the decision to address the fragmented VCSE infrastructure in the city by combining it into a single body. Effectively this arrangement has only been in place since 2012 and has already been re-tendered once (where Macc was the successful bidder).
The Postcode Local Trust has changed its funding themes and application process, and is currently open for its first funding round of 2017. In 2017, the Trust is looking to fund projects that are of local importance, with a particular focus on projects that improve the environment for the benefit of local communities and encourage conservation action at a local level.
The Vegetarian Society is making grants of up to £2,000 for activities or events to celebrate National Vegetarian Week. The Week runs from 15-21 May this year, and activities that take place in that period or the two weeks before are eligible for funding. Activities and events must promote National Vegetarian Week, and must be exclusively vegetarian or vegan - events serving non-vegetarian food will not be funded.
Throughout February, the We Love MCR Charity is launching its annual ‘Show your love for MCR’ campaign and asking people to show their love for the City, by donating their loose change in We Love MCR’s Coin Amnesty.

For women in abusive relationships, the digital world can be a place which is as highly controlled and monitored by perpetrators, as the physical world. Many women and girls in abusive relationships are unable to use technology safely or proactively to access support. And many services struggle to harness the opportunities offered by technology to increase their reach, and make information and assistance accessible outside work hours and to women who may only have short pockets of time to ask for help.
This is the second call for funding and support for groups involved in counter-extremism projects in their communities.
The counter-extremism strategy encourages partnership between the government and people involved in projects that counter extremism and build stronger communities.
