About Whitefield Methodist Church
We are honoured to be God's people doing His work in the heart of Whitefield. The Church building is also used by many community groups in an area where such amenities are hard to find. As our local area changes, we must change too, and our Vision Task Group combine the need for a spiritual vision with regular fundraising events. We hope to serve the people of Whitefield for a long time to come.

Purpose of the role:

To keep the soft play area safe, clean and suitable for young children, their parents and carers; tidying up litter, setting up and tidying toys during the session, and away at the end of the session and other associated tasks

Opportunity to work as part of a time to gain experience in working with young children and their famillies, building relationships and  assiting in various activities

Main activities and tasks:

  • Work with others members of the team to keep the soft play space safe
  • Setting up the play area before the children arrive and tidying away again at the end of the session
  • Move chairs and tables safely.
  • Delivering refreshments on trays to visitors.
  • Assist the children interact with any craft, story-time or musical activities as and when required (at the request of the Children's and Families Worker)
  • Keeping health and safety awareness at all times.
  • To undertake the Foundation Module for Safeguarding Training
  • Reporting damage, hazards and other issues to the Children's and Families Worker
  • Tidying pots in the kitchen and wipe down tables
  • Removing litter - disposing of it safely, sweep and tidy at the end of the session
  • Check toilets are clean and tidy at the beginning and end of session
  • Replenish toilet paper/ paper towel stocks & empty toilet bins
  • Ensure parents carers and children have an enjoyable time
Skills / Qualifications:

Skills, Qualities and Experience required:
Friendly, helpful, and active
Comfortable with working as part of a team
A desire to, or experience of, work with young children and their families
First Aid Certificate desired but training will be given.
