Young Carers Awareness Day is on 26 January 2017. This day is aimed at recognising the hard work young carers do and how caring for their sick brother, disabled mother, dad, sister or friend can have a huge impact in their lives There are about 700.000 young carers in UK who without proper support, would not cope.
This year's theme is 'When I grow up' and it's all about helping young carers to achieve their dream jobs or career.

They say you can’t judge a book by its cover and were diversity is concerned, nothing could be truer. We often talk about Manchester’s diverse communities as collective groups, but when you look inside there are thousands of individuals each with their own strengths, their own values and their own identities. Manchester City Council wants to make sure they get the best value for money, and provide that money in a way that helps organisations to do good work.
“Early Help is intervening early and as soon as possible to tackle problems emerging for children, young people and their families or with a population most at risk of developing problems. Effective intervention may occur at any point in a child or young person’s life”.

On Tuesday 6th December, the newly opened Greater Manchester Law Centre held an Employment Support Allowance (ESA) Appeals Service session in Moss Side. People have their needs assessed by a volunteer prior to the session and appointments are booked for cases such as being ineligible for ESA following a Work Capability Assessment or a declined appeal. Staff find that there is a lot of confusion about the different stages of the process.
