Description of opportunity:

 

We are a national charity is a volunteer-led organisation which organises low-cost workshops in communities and prisons for anyone who has an issue with violence and wants to find healthier ways of dealing with conflict.

We are a very active Alternative to violence resource in the Northwest of England. Currently we are delivering up to 20 weekend workshops a year. With the support of 20 volunteers we run the Northwest office (in Manchester city centre) and deliver the workshops in a range of venues across Greater Manchester. Our aim is to support the development of our programme of workshops, become more financially sustainable and continuing to development in all areas of good practice.

Responsibilities:

  • To attend regular committee meetings (every 6 – 8 weeks).
  • To attend AVP Britain AGM and Annual Conference where possible.
  • To support the accountability of AVP Northwest to AVP Britain.
  • To support the accountability of AVP Northwest as an organisation responsible to its members and funders.
  • To contribute to the strategic direction of AVP Northwest.

Support and training:

  • Induction session.
  • Support to attend any other relevant training.
  • Out of pocket expenses in line with the AVP expenses policy
  • Free place on an AVP Level 1 workshop.

 

 

Skills / Qualifications:

● Experience of working/volunteering in the Third Sector
● Experience of developing organisations in new areas or new ways of working.
● Fundraising
