Description of opportunity:

 

The purpose
We receive around 80 tonnes of surplus food a month, no wonder we need your telephone and computer skills to support our growing operation.

We have opportunities for volunteers with good computer skills, to join our busy, friendly Membership team.

As a membership Food Order Allocator at FareShare, you will be taking and making calls for food orders, using our in-house database.
You will also be entering the details of food deliveries onto the database, linking with the Warehouse team to ensure that stock levels are correct.

We welcome volunteers who can commit 4 hours during the week. You’ll have induction and training. We reimburse limited travel and lunch expenses on submission of an Expenses Form.
Skills / Qualifications:

Requirements
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• An excellent telephone manner with confidence to speak clearly to our customers
• Strong computer skills covering Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Comfortable with working out figures
• Ability to problem-solve, and deal with customer queries over the telephone
• Ability to work both with others and independently with guidance and support
• Reliability to attend regularly
