Description of opportunity:

IT is a fundamental part of society these days and so many of our tenants lack the awareness of working a computer and relevant software packages. Tenants who are unable to navigate the internet miss out on cheaper utility bills and food bills. Lack of digital skills does hinder the quality of life for our tenants.

We would like a volunteer to support the learners to progress through ‘Learn my way course’ developed by UK Online to enable the learners to gain the basic skills and awareness of operating a computer. This way you can assess the level of IT skills among the learners and get to know them better, before you start creating your own sessions. After the online modules have been completed you will be able to encourage the learners to pursue their own interests.

Getting involved in this project is great, if your interests are:

  • To support other people, support their personal progression and helping them overcoming barriers
  • Raise tenant’s confidence
