Description of opportunity:

The Widows Empowerment Trust relieves and supports women in need due to bereavement who may feel socially excluded. We provide emotional, social and practical support to widows. We run various services to promote social inclusion in the lives of widows. We provide education and training services (such as arts and crafts, sewing, knitting and crotchet classes every Friday), befriending services, day out, meal out, and celebrating key dates, including our Easter and Christmas parties. We also promote social inclusion time to widowers and others who need support due to bereavement. Our creative empowerment support helps to tackle loneliness and isolation in our communities.

We need volunteers to join us with our bag packing to support women who have experienced bereavement. This enables us to pay our regular creative workshop facilitator who supports widows with therapeutic sessions in the community, volunteers' expenses for our home visit program, take widows out for a meal/day out, pampering sessions (spa), etc.

This is a chance for you to chat with customers while gaining skills in customer service and valuable volunteering experience, and the satisfaction of knowing that you are supporting vulnerable people in our community is gratifying and also an excellent experience to put on your CV.

The session will be flexible. We are looking for 18 volunteers to cover this event. It will be great to have help from students studying at universities so you can help us to raise much-needed funds to support the widows in our communities.
