Pro Bono Economics – Helping charities and social enterprises improve their impact and value

Pro Bono Economics charity projects help organisations to measure performance, improve their services and better track outcomes. PBE will be focusing its work on areas where improved well-being is a central purpose: Pro Bono Economics

Education – Including early intervention programmes, adult learning and alternative educational methods

Employment – Including programmes aimed at ex-offenders and vocational training for hard-to-reach young people

User testers wanted to review the Charity Commission welcome pack

The Charity Commission has put together a concise guide focusing on key duties and responsibilities that trustees need to be aware of from the outset. They are now looking for trustees to help them test the design and use any feedback to improve it. If you have become a trustee in the last year – or have a hand in appointing and helping new trustees – the Commission plans to hold events in London over the coming months and will also be putting in place a facility to enable remote testing.

People Power – report from the Commission on the Future of Localism

Locality is the national network of ambitious and enterprising community-led organisations, working together to help neighbourhoods thrive. They established the Commission on the Future of Localism in 2017, in partnership with Power to Change, and chaired by Lord Kerslake to consider how to reinvigorate localism and unlock the power of community. The ambition behind the Localism Act is in danger of waning, and the fundamental shift in power from Westminster to communities has not yet been achieved.

Bardsley Fund – apply by 31 January 2018
