SOBS exists to break the isolation of those who have lost a loved one to suicide. 
Suicide is not just the loss of one precious life. It's the loss of that life that often devastates many other lives.

Fareshare Greater Manchester - 4.49 Tonnes of Food
“I would struggle financially and turn to crime in order to get food”. Eric was referred to one of the organisations Fareshare delivers to, Mustard Tree, after moving from homelessness into his first tenancy. He likes everything about the Food Club he is a part of and is glad it is here.

Manchester Deaf Centre - "I feel like I belong to a community"
The DAVE (Deaf, Actively, Volunteering, Experience) project helps 35 young people (aged 16-25), with a wide range of hearing defects, to manage the transition from education to whatever they want to do next.

Sow the City - making Manchester full of beans!
Sow the City is a social enterprise on a mission. It wants to take vacant and derelict bits of Manchester and turn each one into a green oasis, where members of the community are supported to design a garden to grow their own fruit and vegetables. They have already worked with over 80 community groups in Manchester to do this, and today was a step closer to starting work on a new site.

The second edition of the Manchester Health & Social Care Stakeholder Bulletin is out now. It contains an update on plans for the new single commissioning and hospital systems, and the latest information on the Local Care Organisation.

They have launched an exciting new community programme called The Discovery Project to help one million people by 2020.
Kick the Dust aims to make heritage relevant to the lives of young people, aged 11-25, now and in to the future. Building on their needs and interests, the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) wants to see a greater number and diversity of young people benefit from high quality engagement with heritage. Transform how heritage engages young people with an ambitious, youth-focused project. You can apply for a grant of £500,000-£1,000,000 as part of a consortium. 
The Transform Foundation has recently launched a new grant programme, which will be providing £18,000 grants to a select number of non-profits, to fund the design and build of a new website for them. The grant will include a range of cutting edge tools for engaging with supporters and service users as well as the costs of the strategy, design and training 
required to get the website up and running.
