Manchester wants to end hate crime by building on the City's reputation for celebrating diversity. You can help do this by holding an event or activity in your neighbourhood during Hate Crime Awareness Week 2016. Events should raise awareness of hate crime and encourage reporting.

Grow Wild community project funding

Grow Wild is awarding funding of £1,000 to £4,000 to community groups that want to bring people together to transform a communal space by sowing and growing UK native plants.

Grow Wild are looking to fund at least 60 groups in 2016 across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. There’s a lot of support available from the team during the three month application window in autumn 2015.

Pocket Parks Programme Launched

The Department of Communities and Local Government is inviting local community groups in deprived urban areas across England (excluding London) to apply for one-time funding to create a pocket park.

The Pocket Parks Programme has been established with £1.5 million in funding from the Department of Communities and Local Government with the objective of delivering up to 100 pocket parks across deprived urban areas (excluding London) in England.

Applications for 2016 Social Mobility Foundation Programmes Now Open

The Social Mobility Foundation supports ambitious young people from less-privileged backgrounds to access top universities and careers. They run completely free of charge programmes featuring mentoring, internships with top companies, university application support, as well as professional development and skills workshops for high achieving Year 12s across the UK. The charity provides support in 11 professional sectors, including Law, Medicine and Politics. Support continues throughout university to help young people obtain graduate jobs.
