What is #MakeMCR
#MakeMCR supports crowd-funding ideas and projects by and for Manchester people that will create better places and spaces for the benefit of all our residents and that will help develop our city.

#MakeMCR is an initiative between We Love MCR, the charity of the Lord Mayor of the City of Manchester, and crowd-funding platform Spacehive. It is supported by Manchester City Council and a growing number of other partners.

Knit and Natter with Macmillan at North Manchester General Hospital

Do you knit? Would you like to learn? Or would you just like to join in for a chat and a cuppa?

The Macmillan ‘Knit and Natter’ group meets every other Tuesday afternoon at the Macmillan Information and Support Centre at North Manchester General Hospital and is open to everyone affected by cancer.

It’s an opportunity to have some fun, learn new skills and support each other in a friendly and relaxed local setting. All materials and refreshments are provided.

Manchester City Council’s Bonfire Celebrations

Wrap up warm, brave the autumn chill and stay safe at dazzling firework displays and bonfires across the city. Manchester City Council have organised fireworks displays and bonfires in Manchester with free entry to all bonfire events.

Debdale Park
Friday 30 October
Funfair: 5.30pm-9.30pm
Bonfire: 7.30pm, followed by fireworks

Brookdale Park
Saturday 31 October
Funfair: 5pm-9.30pm
Firework display: 7.30pm

The Manchester Leaders Forum, which has developed the Manchester strategy, will oversee the development of a detailed shorter term plan that will identify actions to support the overall aims. Key organisations and individuals across the city, from the public and voluntary sectors, from businesses and the arts all have a part to play.

Living Longer Living Better Newsletter

The second newsletter of the Living Longer, Living Better programme is now available. Living Longer, Living Better is the Health and Social Care integration strategy for Manchester. The key project is the development of One Team - 12 patch-based integrated health and social care teams. The project is supported by a practitioner design team and the newsletter gives updates on each of the project work-streams.

Local people, local ideas and local solutions for safe and healthy relationships

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Greater Manchester Police to invest cash of up to £30,000 to promote healthier and safer relationships in Wythenshawe.

The funding set aside can be applied for in sums between £500 and £10,000. The projects chosen to be funded will be delivered for a 1 year period at a centre that is yet to be chosen.
