About a year ago, I wrote a blog which focused on the development of the Manchester Local Care Organisation. Its subtitle was Episode IV: A New Hope. Now that the LCO is officially launching on 1st April, I’m finding myself wondering what this moment actually means? And which bit of Star Wars is it?
Young Manchester is pleased to launch a new fund for the city, set up to engage and inspire children and young people in outdoor learning and adventurous activities. 
The grants scheme supports the city’s vision for outdoor learning – Learning Through Adventure 2017 – 2020.
The Festival of Ageing 2018 will take place across Greater Manchester between the 2 and 15 July 2018 and will be a celebration of positive and diverse images of ageing. 
FM Awards is about changing the future of funding, so forget about your generic funding applications. With Cash 4 Growth Forever Manchester wants to support young, or smaller established groups, to grow activity in their local communities.
Awards of £251 – £1,000 are available for small, Greater Manchester based, locally led organisations who are either less than 5 years old or have an annual income of less than £25,000.
The Co-op Local Community Fund gives money to local causes, helping to bring people together and make a difference. Co-op is looking for causes that need funding, particularly projects run by small, local organisations that make a real difference in their community. 
Qualifying projects will meet the Co-op’s values and take place or will still be running after October 2019.
Back on Track is a Greater Manchester charity that enables adults facing disadvantage in our society to make lasting, positive changes in their lives. 
Back on Track are looking for new Board members and are especially keen to hear from people with experience and knowledge of the health sector, criminal justice, social enterprise and/or finance (including a Treasurer).
Want to increase your skills, confidence and knowledge, gain work experience and meet new people?
Local advice organisations: Centre Point, Cheetham Hill Advice Centre, Manchester Refugee Support Network, Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit and Manchester Mind need Receptionists, Interpreters, Advisors, Immigration Assistants, Advice Support Workers and Training and Recruitment Assistants.

Furniture Poverty is in the spotlight with the first meeting of GM furniture poverty charities in April and GMPA focuses on the lack of legal aid for those on low incomes.
