Residents urged to take action to avoid winter fuel hikes

Greater Manchester residents who are worried about their energy bills rising this winter are being urged to switch to better deals using a new comparison website.

The www.betterenergydeals.org.uk site has been launched by the Greater Manchester authorities after some of the big energy companies announced they will be increasing their rates over the winter, leaving many families struggling to pay their bills.

Manchester City Council Advice Tender

A new tender from Manchester City Council has been advertised on The Chest. The tender is for advice services and is in 3 parts. Part 1 is for City-Wide Advice Services. Part 2 is for Targeted Individual/Family Advice Services. Part 3 is for a Framework Agreement for the Provision of Innovative Advice Solutions. All the tenders are for 1 year with the possibility of an extension for another year.

Search is on for Manchester’s next wave of women social entrepreneurs

Manchester is seeking a group of fifty women to become the city’s next wave of social entrepreneurs.

Manchester City Council has agreed to support Make A Wave, which aims to train 250 women UK-wide to become social business leaders and start their own projects to bring significant benefits to their communities. Manchester will host a fifty-strong cohort and women over the age of 18 are invited to apply by Sunday 15 December.

Have you completed your electoral registration form?

All Manchester households will by now have had their annual electoral registration form which they must complete as soon as possible.

Some people don’t realise that they have to register every year. It’s a legal requirement to complete the form and if you are not registered you can’t vote and could affect your credit rating – its quick and simple and if your details haven’t changed you can register by text, phone or online in less than 60 seconds.

Lobbying and Transparency Bill
