Before Christmas, Mike Wild (Chief Executive of Macc) and Nigel Rose (Macc’s Strategic Lead on Commissioning) met with Geoff Little (Deputy Chief Executive of Manchester City Council) and Carol Culley (Assistant Chief Executive, Finance and Performance).  We wanted to discuss the impact not just of the next wave of public sector cuts but the prolonged effects of recession. We also wanted to explore the Council’s views on how the voluntary and community sector can rise to meet the challenges faced by the communities in Manchester.

TAY Online Radio Project: Callout for New Members

TAY Radio is the Royal Exchange Theatre's online radio project, run and managed by young people aged 14 - 21 as part of the Theatre's Truth about Youth project.

After the success of TAY Radio last year The Royal Exchange are bringing it back. The Royal Exchange are looking for young people to get involved in creating a vibrant radio broadcasting presence, working alongside ‘Chris Jam’ - a renowned radio presenter, DJ, poet and creative, who has worked on Kiss FM, Galaxy and Unity Radio.

Investment and Contract Readiness Fund to support arts ventures to access new social investment fund

Arts ventures looking to raise investment can apply for an investment readiness grant as part of a new initiative to bring more capital into the arts sector.

Investing for Good and Cabinet Office are developing a new social investment fund for the arts sector. The Arts Ventures Fund will open in 2014 and aims to increase access to and participation in arts and culture amongst older people, establish education projects for young people and support projects in the wider community.
