As well as providing recognition to the sector in these hard times, we want to raise the profile of the sector amongst the general public and encourage local giving and active citizenship.

Would you like to access funding to help you realise you dream?
Collyhurst Big Local’s small grants scheme is for projects that will celebrate Collyhurst, encourage people in Collyhurst to come together and improve the quality of life for residents in the area. There are grants of up to £500 to give away for ideas that you’d like to put in place, or to help start a community project.
The Booth Centre, an advice and activities based day centre for homeless people, which this year celebrates its 20th birthday has been honoured with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK. 
Manchester Adult Education Service are looking for organisations that want to get involved with Talk English to host informal beginner ESOL from September/October 2015 – March 2016. Manchester Adult Education Service will support your organisation to deliver the course which will be taught by a pair of trained volunteers.
In Greater Manchester the project will be targeted at people from 25 years of age who are unemployed or economically inactive, not in contact with mainstream services and who are experiencing a range of issues at the same time, including people who live in poverty.
People First Housing Association have a community support service offering housing related support to people from BME communities with issues around mental health, memory issues/ dementia, drug and alcohol issues, issues around homelessness and tenancy sustainment. Other people with similar problems can also apply. All ages are welcome.

The Spirit of Manchester Awards are a celebration of voluntary and community action in Manchester organised by Macc as the support organisation for the 3000+ groups in the city. So it works in a way which is shaped by Macc's values: being supportive, being collaborative and being influential.
